VDS 2100 Series Video Modem System No More Lost Signal New innovative Superior performance Low cost Product overview The Video Modem System is high-performed and with remote access ability in real time trans- mission of Video and Audio signals. VDS emphasizes on a unique, available, accessible security/surveillance system and can provide the clearest signals, which usually degrades over the system s transmission distance in other systems. Unlike others, we integrates all peripheral components of surveillance systems to offer the real-time transmission through one coaxial cable that can be up to 500 meters. It makes surveillance in factories, schools, banks, busi- ness, home, and stores more convenient, effective and easy to install. The new features of VDS provide a way to receive pictures and sounds from AV signal through only ONE coaxial cable without losing quality of signal. No mat- ter where AV signals of CCTV, VCR, VCD play- ers or CCD camera are from, they are NTSC, PAL compatible in VDS.

2 Descriptions The Video Signals are sent to Security Monitors, Multiplexers, or Switch from CCD Camera by a coaxial cable in past years. However, it needs to use another cable for sending Audio signal or supplying power on camera. The disadv- antages of this method included complicated installation and trouble for finding out where the problem in the whole system. VDS can simultaneously transmit real-time images and sound by using only one coaxial cable, no extra power cable needed. The result is that VDS with one coaxial cable offers adv- antages including easy to install, Video signals of VDS become the clearest, crispest, the most interference free, with no noise and cost-effective when comparing to conventional types. This is the most advanced to utilize Inter-carrier. VDS consists of two units including Remote unit and Local unit. First of all, the way of Remote unit encoded AV signals to Inter-carrier. Then, Local unit decoded the signals of Inter-carrier. The successful design of VDS is patentpending Figure Remote Unit Unit Details of Remote Unit Remote Unit is named of Sender-V. In the upper side of VDS, there are three ports. One is DC OUT port that is applied to the DC power out 9V or 12V, 500mA. The others are Audio Input port and Video Input port. Those A/V Input port and DC OUT port are used for connecting to CCD Camera. In the lower side, there is one port. The port is LINK OUT port connected with coaxial cable by using of BNC plug or F plug. This port functions as sen- ding Inter-carrier signal out. Moreover, the transmission of coaxial cable is totally compatible with RG-59/U or better type. Using the correct type of coaxial cable can possibly make the transmission distance up to 500 meters (see page 5,Table 1~3). Furthermore, LINK OUT /LINK IN ports have the same 75 impedance as RG-59/U or equivalent type.

3 Features The VDS transmission system transmits both realtime pictures and sound over any TV s AV Mode or security monitors, CCTV, black-and- white TV. Not only that, the best feature is allowing the real- time pictures with full color showing in NTSC and PAL TV format: High contrast pictures and high resolution in NTSC 480 Lines and PAL 500 Lines. It also offers extremely easy installation and use no extra power cable needed in our system, no any Video and Audio signal lost. Moreover, VDS can use the 3 most com- mon types of industrial standard connectors (BNC, RCA, F) for each port. Customers can choose the right connector for each port to meet their needs. In upper side of VDS, there are two ports. One port is LINK IN that is used to receive Inter-carrier through coaxial cable. The other port is DC IN port that receives power for the whole system from a power adapter. In the lower side, there are two ports. They are Audio Output and Video Out- put port that are used for connecting to TV s AV Mode or security monitors. The connectors of Audio and Video Output is BNC or RCA type, again, for connecting the TV or monitor. BNC plug and F plug are provided for LINK IN.

4 Functions The VDS transmission system enables the distance to extend when using a coaxial cable to transmit DC power, Audio and Video. More- over, it adopts LED indicator that enable user to diagnose the operation situation more easily. The colors of LED indicators in both sites represent different messages: Sender-V: The LED indicator may show one of following three colors: 1) Green (STANDBY): As soon as the power is supplied from Local Unit (Viewer) to Remote Unit (Sender-V ), the LED indicator shows green. Even if the Camera is not connected or off, the LED indicator of Sender-V also shows Green. 2) Red (POWER ON): Once the camera is plugged to DC OUT and turned on, the LED indicator shows red. (If the camera isn t plugged to or doesn t consume power from Sender-V, the LED indicator will never show red) 3) Yellow (POWER LOW): If the transmitting distance increase or current loading of camera raise, it may lower operation voltage of the Sen- der- V. When operation voltage is too low to transmit, the LED indicator shows yellow. It means that user has to adjust the power voltage by screwdriver on power adapter. Notice: For most of the time, plugging camera to DC OUT of Sender-V will increase current loading. Some- times user might turn on VDS before connecting camera. As a result, user might not be aware of that LED indicator turn yellow from red or green after plugging camera to DC OUT. This negligence will cause VDS not to work properly. To avoid this mistake, user must check LED indicator after connecting camera to Sender-V or connect each unit properly before turn on VDS. Viewer: the LED indicator may show either one of following colors: 2100 Sender-V DC power output 9V or 12V, 500mA capacity LED indicator light up when the device starts on LED Indicator provides operational situation to observe 2200 Viewer Required DC power input from 18V to 27V which depends on transmitting distance or power consumption of load Advantages The VDS transmission system is easier to use and install. 7 Power Adapter: PD-104 We provide reliable and stable power supply for the whole system. This power supply not only offers sufficient power current, but also allows user to adjust DC output voltage from 18V to 27V that depends on the length of transmitting distance or loading power consumption. In other words, 18V power will be sufficient for whole sys- tem when VDS is normally loading to transmit signals for 1 meter. On the contrary, 27V power will be required for whole system when VDS is heavily loading or transmits signals for up to 500 meters. users can adjust power voltage by themselves when this occur. It has broader voltage range from 15V~27V but same function as PD-104 model. Its voltage range is specially designed to match 9V DC OUT of 2101 Sender-V. Customer can refer to the brochure Adjustable AC Adapter PD-100 Series. AC Power Cord In order to adapt different countries, PD-100 series power adapters have several different power cords. Users can select the correct power cord for their own country. See Table 6 and Table 7.

8 Connector Adapter We mention that BNC plug or F plug can be selected in six different layouts in previous page. However, our suggestion is that user select L04 layout types (see page 6) when placing samples order. The reason is that BNC type is industrial standard in this field.
